Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Restaurant Chef to lead our culinary team and elevate the dining experience for our guests. In this vital role, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. Your leadership will inspire creativity in the kitchen, ensure exceptional food quality, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our commitment to hospitality. Duties

  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency
  • Oversee food handling procedures to meet safety and sanitation regulations
  • Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control costs effectively
  • Lead, motivate, and manage kitchen staff to foster teamwork and professional growth
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all kitchen activities
  • Serve as a mentor for team members, providing training on cooking techniques and service protocols

Experience

  • Red Seal Cook Certification and a valid Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant, with previous supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Extensive culinary expertise across a variety of cuisines, with a strong emphasis on Italian, Steakhouse, and contemporary dining.
  • Thorough understanding of restaurant operations, including food production, kitchen workflow, cost control, and quality assurance.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop kitchen teams while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, HACCP principles, and applicable health regulations.
  • Experience managing inventory, ordering, receiving, menu costing, waste reduction, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with front-of-house teams, vendors, and management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and restaurant POS or inventory management systems is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by business operations.
