Accounting Clerk – Dispatch Support

Slingshot Transportation Inc. - Driven for Excellence - Powered by People

Slingshot Transportation Inc. is expanding again! We have an exciting new opportunity for a Transportation Administrator – Dispatch Support to join our operations team at the Calgary Alberta terminal.

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 08:00-17:00

Salary: $50,000-$55,000 per year dependent on experience

Position Purpose:

1. Maintain cash flow by promptly processing Accounts Receivables and Payables

2. Audit, scan and verify incoming proof of delivery, scale tickets and other documents

3. Verify all entries in SoftPak and complete Accounting Department invoices processing.

4. Enter the Invoices created in SoftPak into Sage Accounting program.

5. Perform Accounts Receivable inquires and take necessary steps according to plan.

6. Monitor and maintain the purchase order log including issuing of PO#s to vendors and processing of inbound invoices for payment.

7. To ensure administrative functions are completed per procedure and within expected time frames.

8. Support Slingshot and Dragonfly operations, including dispatch, with a variety of tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

· SoftPak experience preferred

· Sage 50 Accounting system experience preferred

· Strong MS office skills specifically Excel and Word

· Working knowledge of Southwest Ontario Geography

· Knowledge of waste management

Skills and Abilities:

· Strong computer skills including the ability to learn new computer programs and implement training for other staff members

· Excellent communication with internal/external customer, organizational and problem-solving skills

· Ability to multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

· Highly motivated, takes initiative

· Strong customer service skills

· Ability to prioritize and adapt to changes

· Exceptional organizational skills

· Comfortable in a setting which includes office staff, associates, and drivers

· Previous experience in waste management in dispatch, administration and/or accounting

· Exceptional attention to detail and problem solving

Other Requirements:

· Must hold a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

· Minimum 2-years’ experience in a similar role

· Waste Management industry experience an asset

· Must be able to work in fast-paced, multi-dimensional and highly demanding office environment

· Must be able to meet strict deadlines
