Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist
Wosler Diagnostics — Calgary, AB
Salary: $80,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Work Setting: Remote and in-person (combination)
About Wosler Diagnostics
Wosler Diagnostics is a growing Canadian diagnostic imaging company operating outpatient clinics across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia. Our services include ultrasound, X-ray, and pain injection procedures. We are looking for a Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at our Calgary location and support quality and accreditation across all sites.
About the Role
The Clinical Quality Assurance Specialist owns the full accreditation lifecycle across all Wosler clinic sites, ensuring every facility meets or exceeds the standards set by provincial regulatory bodies. You will manage quality programs across diagnostic imaging operations, covering facility infrastructure, equipment compliance, personnel credentialing, clinical documentation, policies and procedures, and patient service delivery.
This role is also open to interns and recent graduates from clinical or health sciences programs who have a strong working knowledge of diagnostic imaging standards and a genuine interest in healthcare quality.
What You Will Do
Accreditation Management
Lead all aspects of clinic accreditation preparation, submission, and renewal for CPSA (Alberta), CPSNS (Nova Scotia), and CPSS (Saskatchewan). Maintain awareness of accreditation standards and regulatory changes. Coordinate site visits, manage corrective action responses, and maintain an accreditation readiness calendar across all locations. Lead accreditation preparation for new clinic openings including gap assessments, documentation development, and initial submissions.
Clinical Quality Assurance
Design, implement, and monitor a comprehensive QA program covering ultrasound and X-ray modalities. Establish quality indicators and performance benchmarks. Conduct internal audits of clinical workflows, imaging protocols, and documentation. Oversee radiologist peer review programs and monitor sonographer scan quality and protocol adherence.
Personnel Standards and Credentialing
Maintain current records of all clinical personnel credentials, licensure, and professional registrations (ARDMS, CAMRT, provincial colleges). Track continuing education requirements and contribute to onboarding processes for new clinical staff.
Policy and SOP Management
Develop, review, and maintain all clinical and operational policies and SOPs aligned to accreditation and regulatory requirements. Manage a master policy register with version control, review schedules, and approval workflows.
Infection Prevention, Safety, and Facility Standards
Monitor IPAC compliance, support equipment maintenance tracking, conduct facility audits, and ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.
Incident Management and Continuous Improvement
Manage clinical incident and near-miss reporting, root cause analysis, and CAPA development. Maintain incident trend analysis reports and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diploma or degree in Medical Sonography, Medical Radiation Technology, Health Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field. Coursework or academic exposure to healthcare quality, regulatory standards, patient safety, or clinical operations is an asset. Self-directed familiarity with provincial accreditation standards (CPSA, CPSNS, CPSS) is expected and will be assessed during the selection process.
Registration and Certification
Enrollment in or completion of a recognized clinical or health sciences program is required. ARDMS or CAMRT registration is an asset but not required for intern candidates. CPHQ or quality management coursework is an asset. WHMIS, workplace safety training, and privacy/confidentiality training (PIPEDA/PHIA/HIA) are required prior to start. CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.
Experience
Prior clinical placement, practicum, co-op, or internship in diagnostic imaging or a regulated healthcare setting is an asset but not required. Demonstrated understanding of or genuine interest in accreditation frameworks and clinical quality standards for diagnostic imaging. Any exposure to policy writing, audit support, documentation management, or quality improvement projects is considered relevant. Strong research, organizational, and written communication skills are expected.
What We Are Looking For
Regulatory and standards knowledge. Attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Clinical judgment and critical thinking. Audit and compliance monitoring skills. Root cause analysis and problem solving ability. Policy development and management capability. Clear, concise professional communication. Self-direction, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Working Conditions
This is a combination remote and in-person role. Travel to clinic sites across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia may be required. Work is performed in diagnostic imaging clinic environments with occasional exposure to clinical equipment and patient areas. Standard business hours with flexibility to support site visits and accreditation timelines.
How to Apply
Submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in clinical quality assurance and diagnostic imaging accreditation.
Wosler Diagnostics is an equal opportunity employer.
