Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role

We’re looking for a Claims Specialist, Property (Intact Prestige) to join our growing team of field adjusters, based in Kelowna or Vancouver.

Intact Prestige provides specialized protection for high-net-worth customers. From safeguarding irreplaceable art collections and high-end home features to watercraft and other valuable possessions, our team is trusted to handle the most unique and complex risks with expertise and care.

As a Claims Specialist, Property in the field with Intact Prestige, you’ll make a meaningful impact by leading complex investigations involving distinctive properties. You’ll determine the circumstances and cause of loss, obtain and verify statements, assess covered damages, and calculate the total loss to support accurate claim outcomes. Using your expertise, you’ll negotiate fair, timely settlements that reflect both the policy and the customer experience we aim to deliver.


What you'll do here:

  • Investigate high-value and complex personal lines property claims in a timely and respectful manner through communication with customers, contractor, consultants, brokers, and any other related parties.

  • Perform field inspections and related tasks to support multiline adjusters, while also directly managing field property claims.

  • Provide a superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers, and answer queries relating to the claims process

  • Document the claims file by meeting with all involved parties and obtaining appropriate reports and statements from customers, appraisers, third party adjusters, claimants, witnesses, police, and any other pertinent experts to determine coverage

  • Analyze the information gathered, interprets insurance policy wordings, determines coverage, assesses damage

  • Within established authority limits, negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims

  • Keep up to date on Intact’s Prestige products, appraisal and investigation techniques, and services

  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance products, as well as appraisal or investigation techniques and services


What you bring to the table:

  • 3+ years experience handling personal property claims with direct field experience as an asset

  • Willing and able to travel on short notice, including to provinces outside your assigned region, as Prestige operates as a national team

  • Completed or working towards a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation

  • Strengthen the Prestige brand with our broker partners by applying strategic thinking to lead projects and implement value-added improvements to our claims process

  • Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Strong aptitude for technology with excellent computer skills

  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
