PURCHASING SPECIALIST

Reporting to the Demand Planning Manager, this is a new role that is responsible for executing procurement plans, performing purchasing and inventory analysis, as well as maintaining purchasing data within company systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Convert demand requirements into purchasing actions.

· Review inventory levels and identify replenishment needs.

· Monitor open purchase orders and expedite deliveries as required.

· Analyze shortages, excess inventory, and supplier performance.

· Generate purchasing and inventory reports.

· Maintain supplier pricing records within the ERP system.

· Process approved supplier cost changes.

· Verify pricing accuracy between supplier quotations, contracts, and system records.

· Investigate pricing discrepancies and coordinate corrections.

· Support supplier reviews through reporting and analysis.

· Maintain purchasing parameters and item master data.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory planning, or a related field.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret inventory, purchasing, pricing, and supplier performance data.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including reporting and data analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the packaging, manufacturing, or distribution industry.
  • Experience maintaining supplier pricing and item master data within ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles, forecasting, and replenishment processes.
  • Familiarity with supplier performance measurement and procurement reporting.
  • Professional supply chain designation (SCMP, APICS/CPIM, CSCP) is considered an asset.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
