BRKFREE is a brand new and immersive social entertainment experience designed to make participants feel like they have entered another world. The new concept is the future of in-person entertainment for groups of all kinds, with its combination of wildly entertaining gameplay, and great food and drinks. The space has 40+ unique and high-technology game rooms where teams will encounter physical, mental, and skill-based challenges.

The Operations Manager leads our team in providing best-in-class, off-the-chart, rockstar-level experience for our guests. By working with, training, and coaching our Team Members; the Operations Manager drives the highest level of team member engagement and the highest level of service to ensure our guests have the most fun ever.

The Operations Manager will also have general operational responsibilities related to running the location (opening/closing, managing shifts, kitchen operations, events prep etc.)

Additionally, Operations Manager may be responsible for overseeing other specific business functions. Ex: Bar & Kitchen/Guest Service. This might include (but would not be limited to) hiring, scheduling, Team Member development and training, bar and kitchen success, ordering, inventory management, and location maintenance.

Responsibilities

How You’ll Do It

  • Serve as a champion and role model for BRKFREE’s core values and mission statement in everything you do.
  • Cultivate a team environment that provides exceptional guest experience.
  • Lead team members through effective motivation and feedback and conduct performance evaluations as scheduled by the General Manager.
  • Promote positive team member relations and foster high team morale.
  • Train, Coach and develop the team and drive Team Member engagement.
  • Uphold operating procedures and service and safety standards, especially guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure all guest areas are staffed, clean, and functioning efficiently.
  • Delegate tasks.
  • Focus on business metrics to drive performance and maximize profit and revenue.
  • Perform other operational duties as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Assist as necessary to prepare and serve food to guests, operate cash registers, and provide quality service to guests in a clean, safe atmosphere.
  • Maintain proper stock levels for all serving, kitchen, dining and bar areas.
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and presentation of food.
  • Control and minimize food loss and wastage.
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of relevant management experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication, time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Proven experience working in kitchen/bars.
  • Energy and enthusiasm
  • A high level of self-awareness, receptivity to change and integrity
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to obtain required licenses and certifications

Key Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to take on additional tasks
  • Adheres to federal, provincial and local labour laws
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays, and understands and complies with all scheduling policies and practices
  • Secures and maintains any assigned company property
  • Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds
