Job Description

Installation Field Technician

Location: Reservoir Group, Calgary

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Type: Temporary Full Time

About the Position:

This position is responsible for the installation of downhole instrumentation such as piezometers, other downhole gauges, thermocouples and capillary line. Installation Field Technician will run specialized equipment that provides electronic data capture solutions to clients. In addition, this position requires strong installation knowledge, exceptional writing skills; and the ability to visually inspect other’s work and provide verbal feedback that encourages best in industry installation service.

Specific Responsibilities:

· Plan installation or servicing of monitoring equipment and prepare equipment prior to departure.

· Operating of pneumatic banding and clamping tools.

· Operating manual spooling units.

· Liaise with well site customers to ensure timely and comprehensive well monitoring solutions.

· Coordinate onsite with other services to coordinate the installation and servicing of monitoring equipment.

· Communicate with Installation Manager regarding any on site equipment problems.

· Responsible for maintaining monitoring equipment to ensure optimal operations.

· Responsible for general shop duties including the cleaning, maintenance and organization of equipment, as well as organizing, tracking and equipment inventory control;

Physical Demands:

· Able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.

· Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with industrial equipment.

· Comfortable in environments with high noise levels.

· Able to work in outdoor environments, at times in extreme hot or cold weather conditions.

· Manual dexterity to perform intricate tasks.

· Extensive travel to field locations, either domestic or international for prolonged periods of time.

· Driving to site which may include driving in adverse road and weather conditions

About You:

The ideal candidate would have:

· Grade 12 diploma required;

· Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving history (abstract required).

You would also be/have:

· Strong time management and organizational skills;

· Excellent customer service skills and the ability to quickly build rapport with clients;

· Demonstrated ability to solve problems and adapt to changing priorities;

· Able to work effectively with limited supervision;

· Intermediate understanding of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite);

· Strong working knowledge of installation software applications;

· Experience installing equipment or working in an oilfield environment;

· Technical understanding of well operations and monitoring equipment;

· Strong safety orientation

· Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal and ability to read English;

· Ability to work within a team environment;

· Willingness to travel to domestic and international locations and work outdoors in all weather conditions

Please note that Reservoir Group operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.
