About the Position

The Full Time Accounting Clerk, under the supervision and direction of the Director of Finance is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations, accounts payable, month-end close, and process improvements. The successful candidate will work across multiple systems and collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review and verify invoices, assign appropriate coding and obtain approval prior to processing.
• Communicate with vendors for any discrepancies on invoices.
• Prepare and execute payment in CAD & USD
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors
• Ordering Office supplies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare GST/QST and other tax reconciliations
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and recommend solutions
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and working papers
• Assist with annual audits and external accountant requests
• Perform special projects as assigned.
• Answer telephone and electronic inquiries and relay telephone calls and messages

What You Bring to the Role

• Minimum of three years experience in a similar role, a college diploma in an Accounting related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles , specifically accounts payables
• Working knowledge of computer systems and related software programs including accounting software and a high proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
