Position

Specialist, Staffing, Edmonton

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Superintendent, Staffing, this position will be based in Edmonton, AB.

Responsibilities

• 
  Manage full-cycle recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, candidate assessment, reference checks, offer support, and onboarding handoff.
• Partner with hiring leaders to confirm workforce requirements, refine job descriptions, develop sourcing strategies, and support timely hiring decisions aligned with operational needs.
• Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant data within recruitment and Human Resources systems, ensuring data integrity, workflow consistency, and appropriate documentation.
• Develop and maintain candidate pipelines through job postings, direct sourcing, referrals, community outreach, and targeted recruitment initiatives, including Inuit recruitment priorities.
• Monitor recruitment activity, hiring progress, time-to-fill, candidate flow, and related staffing metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes, candidate communication, hiring leader practices, system use, and staffing administration to improve efficiency and service quality.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

• 
  Five (5) years of progressive experience in full-cycle recruitment, talent acquisition, staffing, or human resources, preferably in a high-volume, industrial, mining, remote operations, or resource-based environment.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation.
• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, completed or in progress, is considered an asset.
• Strong sourcing, interviewing, stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills, with proficiency using Applicant Tracking Systems, Human Resources Information Systems, recruitment data, and Microsoft Office.
