International Logistics Coordinator

Tradex Foods is looking for an International Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team in Victoria, BC.

In this role, you’ll help coordinate international and North American shipments while working directly with suppliers, customers, freight partners, warehouses, internal teams, and our Asia office. You’ll gain hands-on experience across international freight, customs documentation, product costing, data management, and temperature-controlled supply chains.

What You’ll Do

International Logistics & Freight

• Coordinate inbound shipments from international suppliers to our North American warehouses.
• Coordinate outbound shipments from our North American warehouses to customers.
• Work with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, suppliers, and other logistics partners to keep shipments moving efficiently.
• Source and negotiate competitive freight rates.
• Track shipments and proactively identify and help resolve delays, documentation issues, and other exceptions.
• Collaborate directly with our Asia office to coordinate shipments and resolve supply-chain issues.
• Monitor temperature-tracer information for applicable shipments and escalate exceptions when required.

Documentation & Data Management

• Prepare, review, and proof shipping and customs documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain shipment tracking information and update large datasets using Excel and internal systems.
• Ensure shipment records and supporting documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Communicate shipment status and relevant updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Costing & Administration

• Calculate product costing using internal systems.
• Reconcile freight accruals and supplier invoices.
• Process order entry and customer invoicing.
• Support other logistics and administrative activities as required.

What You’ll Bring

• At least 2 year of logistics, freight, supply-chain, or closely related experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets, formulas, filters, lookups, and data reconciliation.
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when reviewing shipping, customs, and financial documentation.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt when priorities or shipment conditions change.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Post-secondary education is preferred; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered.
• Ability to reliably commute to our Victoria office Monday through Friday.

Nice to Have

You don’t need to check every box. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:

• International ocean freight, importing, or exporting.
• Customs and international shipping documentation.
• Basic accounting principles, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Advanced Excel functionality and analysis of large datasets.
• Food, seafood, cold-chain, or temperature-controlled logistics.
• Working with international suppliers or overseas offices.
• Mandarin language skills are a significant asset; other relevant language skills are also valued.
