Purpose & Scope:

The Procurement and Logistics Coordinator reports to the Vice-President (VP) of Sales. This role works collaboratively with the Procurement team and closely with the Sales and Production teams. The Procurement & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the planning and administration that goes with the coordination of product and transportation to support business operations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the VP of Sales and Procurement Coordinator(s) to purchase product based on previously agreed upon pricing and terms.
  • Ensure all procurement documents are completed accurately and processed in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinate transportation and delivery of goods to ensure timely and efficient supply chain operations.
  • Track shipments and resolve any delays or logistical issues.
  • Understand product specification requirements and order product to the specifications required by the customer and production.
  • Source transportation providers and negotiate freight options to maximize efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Track transportation for product being sourced (domestically, from the US and internationally)
  • Maintain and manage freight related to purchase orders and transfers on internal ERP system
  • Administer accounts payables responsibilities of freight coordinated by the freight department
  • Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal customers
  • Create and maintain truck and trailer schedules
  • Create shipping documents and process transactions (Canada, US and International)
  • Work with Procurement Coordinator(s), Production and Sales to develop and plan in-bound delivery schedules; pro-actively manage the schedule and adjust as required.
  • Due to the nature of the business, availability outside of regular working hours will be required to address transportation or supply chain issues.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics/supply chain management or equivalent business-related experience.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline would be an asset
  • Proven ability to plan, evaluate needs and communicate with vendors.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization, Growers, and suppliers.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines, multi-task, and complete projects.
  • Strong aptitude for working within Microsoft 365
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and learning.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
