Full job description

We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our production team as Trainee Machine Operators. This entry-level role is designed for semi-skilled candidates who are eager to learn and grow within the corrugated packaging industry. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and development to become a fully qualified Machine Operator responsible for running converting equipment safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist machine operators in setting up and operating converting machines (e.g., die cutters, folder gluers, flexo printers)
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production processes
  • Support material handling, feeding sheets, stacking finished products, and basic machine adjustments
  • Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
  • Report any machine issues, defects, or safety concerns to supervisors
  • Participate in training programs to develop technical and operational skills

Training & Development Path:

  • Phase 1: General production support and safety training
  • Phase 2: Machine-specific training under supervision
  • Phase 3: Independent operation of assigned machine
  • Phase 4: Advancement to Machine Operator

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience is an asset (not mandatory)
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machinery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
  • Basic English communication skills
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts (days/afternoons/nights if required)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
