MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS INTERN
Toronto / Full-time, four-month internship
This role involves remote/work from home with a requirement for a minimum of two (2) days per week working onsite and may be subject to change as the organization works through its hybrid workforce plan and/or changing needs of the Foundation. We care about our team and community and are aligned with CAMH’s health and safety practices.
ABOUT CAMH FOUNDATION
Hi! I’m Isabella Kuscu, Manager, Communications & Brand Partnerships - Brand & Donor Experience at CAMH Foundation. I’ve had the privilege of working at CAMH Foundation for the past year and have been part of some incredible growth during that time. This summer, we’re looking for a passionate, driven post-secondary student or recent graduate to join our team as a Marketing and Communications Intern. If you care deeply about mental health and are eager to gain real-world experience in brand marketing and communications, we’d love to work with you.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field. With a dedicated staff of more than 5,000 physicians, clinicians, researchers, educators and support staff, CAMH offers outstanding clinical care to more than 38,000 patients each year. The organization conducts ground-breaking research, provides expert training to health care professionals and scientists, develops innovative health promotion and prevention strategies and advocates on public policy issues at all levels of government.
The CAMH Foundation is charged with raising and stewarding funds in support of CAMH. Its role is to help transform the way we understand and address mental illness by raising awareness and increasing engagement across the country. Generous and dedicated supporters help CAMH advance discovery and innovation, build spaces that promote recovery and break down the stigma of mental illness.
If you're creative, curious, and ready to roll up your sleeves, this is your opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, build your portfolio, and be part of a mission-driven team.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
-
Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $20.00 to $23.00 per hour; and
-
Percentage pay in lieu of sick time, vacation, holidays, and health benefits
Responsibilities
Your projects may include:
-
Brand Awareness and Strategic Visibility: Enhancing the Foundation’s visibility, reputation, and thought leadership through strategic communications and storytelling.
-
Storytelling and Partnerships: Assisting partnerships with strategic and high-visibility partners to expand the reach and relevance of CAMH Foundation’s mission and message.
-
Ambassador Engagement: Cultivate and amplify the voices of ambassadors—including people with lived experience (PWLE), patients, celebrity advocates, and key opinion leaders (KOLs)—to support awareness, credibility, and engagement with CAMH Foundation priorities.
-
Media Relations: Execute media relations initiatives, including identifying opportunities, pitching stories, facilitating interviews, and securing coverage that elevates CAMH Foundation initiatives. Work in partnership with CAMH Public Affairs on media opportunities connected to institutional priorities and partnerships.
-
Collaborative Execution: Collaborate cross-functionally with the Marketing and Donor Experience team, as well as communications professionals in CAMH Public Affairs, to align earned, paid, and owned media strategies and ensure cohesive messaging.
-
Content Creation: Develop and review high-quality, multi-channel content (written, visual, and audio) to communicate the Foundation’s impact, including press releases, donor recognition pieces, and audio news releases. Partner closely with owned channel leads, especially social media, to deploy this content.
-
Interviews and Photography: Conduct interviews with stakeholders and capture high-quality images to support storytelling and content development.
