About the Job
The Registered Nurse:
This is a Relief Part Time (0.56) opportunity until November 01, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.
Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.
About this Location
Penticton Regional Hospital serves a large geographical area stretching from Summerland to Osoyoos and across to Princeton. We have an active Perinatal Committee that works hard to ensure excellent standards of care.
We are a Regional Hospital that delivers 500-600 babies per year. Our unit is comprised of 4 delivery rooms, 7 postpartum beds and 5 female med-surg beds. We are a unit of RN’s and LPN’s with great team spirit. We work closely with all our maternity care providers including Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Family Physicians and Midwives. We are into year 7 of the moreOb program and are currently participating in a National Quality Improvement Collaborative that will ensure Baby Friendly Designation by 2021.
The city of Penticton is located in BC’s scenic south central region in the Okanagan Valley. With its mild climate, easy accessibility, urban amenities and world-class recreational opportunities, it offers an attractive lifestyle.

About the Job
The Registered Nurse:
- Practices in a perinatal clinical setting and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
- Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
- Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education & experience
- Current Fetal Health Surveillance
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) within 2 years
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years
