EAP Intake Counselor

Job Description

*We are hiring for multiple shifts*

*Mandatory requirement: Must speak fluent French*

EAP Intake Counselor will be a Call Center Department Team Member. The work location may be at either CCA's midtown Manhattan office or work remotely. Their main function is to conduct assessment, provide information, data collecting and provide in the moment support to individual clients and their families, who are eligible for the service based on a contract with their employer. The position is part of the Clinical Department at CCA, reporting to the Clinical Management Team.

  • Completes intake assessments over the phone and via web-based self-service. Also, potentially through via live chat, and via email communications with members, including appropriate follow-up communications to complete a comprehensive assessment
  • The counselor requires competency in risk, substance abuse, and psychosocial assessment, and motivational interviewing
  • Intake Counselor will review all high-risk cases, complaints/service delivery issues and case escalations with supervisory staff in a timely manner
  • Intake Counselor will make any and all appropriate referrals to covered EAP counseling, work-life services and manager consults, as well as non-EAP company sponsored benefits
  • Intake Counselor will thoroughly document all interactions with members in our online documentation system in a timely manner

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum Master’s level degree
  • Active mental health license required
  • 1+ year of professional mental health and/or substance abuse experience
  • Customer service focused
  • Spanish speaking preferred
  • Effective communication on the phone, in person, and in writing
  • Remote capabilities and technology core competencies
