Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Assistant at MANITOU FAMILY CLINIC, KITCHENER , where your energy and organizational skills will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and seamless office operations. In this role, you will be the friendly face at the front desk, managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients and support the smooth functioning of our medical practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your administrative expertise within a healthcare setting.

Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures at the front desk
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems like Epic and Dentrix
  • Verify patient information, insurance details, and update medical histories as needed
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
  • Support the dental or medical team by preparing exam rooms and ensuring all necessary supplies are available

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as JUNO
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical information
  • Experience working as a dental receptionist or in a medical front desk role is advantageous
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and scheduling
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members
  • Familiarity with office equipment including multi-line phone systems and office software
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally
