Join One of Vancouver Island's Award-Winning Millwork Teams

Cowichan Woodwork Ltd. is looking for an experienced cabinet installer who takes pride in their work and wants to build a long-term career with a company that values craftsmanship, professionalism and teamwork.

For more than 20 years, Cowichan Woodwork has been located in Cobble Hill where we've been designing, manufacturing and installing premium custom residential cabinetry and commercial architectural millwork throughout British Columbia. Our reputation has been built on exceptional workmanship, strong relationships and delivering projects we're proud to put our name on.

We're proud to have received the AWMAC BC Award of Excellence for Highest Quality Commercial Project (2023) and the AWMAC BC Award of Excellence for Highest Quality Residential Project (2024).

These awards reflect the investment we have made into our entire team, including the installers, who are fundamentally good people, who we have built strong relationships with, and who bring every project to life while never compromising on quality.

As our company continues to grow, we're making significant investments into our installation department because we believe our installers deserve the same level of support as every other part of our business.

That means better planning, better communication, better technology and the right people supporting you every step of the way.

Why This Position Matters

At Cowichan Woodwork, installation isn't an afterthought.

Our installers are the final representatives of our company on every project. You are the person our customers, builders and designers remember. Your workmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail directly influence the experience our clients have with Cowichan Woodwork.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be installing:

  • High-end custom residential cabinetry
  • Commercial architectural millwork
  • Reception desks
  • Feature walls
  • Custom furniture
  • Interior architectural woodwork
  • Hardware and finishing components
  • Site modifications where required to achieve the best possible finished product

You'll also:

  • Read and interpret shop drawings and installation details.
  • Coordinate professionally with homeowners, builders, project managers and other trades.
  • Identify and communicate site issues before they become problems.
  • Complete installations efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe worksite.
  • Represent Cowichan Woodwork professionally on every project.

We're Looking for Someone Who

  • Has experience installing custom cabinetry or architectural millwork.
  • Takes genuine pride in producing exceptional work.
  • Has excellent finish carpentry skills.
  • Can confidently read shop drawings.
  • Works well independently and manages their time effectively.
  • Communicates professionally with customers and other trades.
  • Enjoys solving problems.
  • Is dependable, organized and takes ownership of their work.
  • Holds a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

Experience with both residential and commercial installations would be considered an asset.

Why Work with Us?

We know experienced installers have choices.

That's why we're committed to building one of the best installation teams on Vancouver Island.

We offer:

  • Stable, year-round employment.
  • A company van may be provided as part of the compensation package for the right candidate.
  • A wide variety of challenging residential and commercial projects.
  • High-quality cabinetry manufactured by our own experienced shop team.
  • Dedicated design, engineering and administrative support.
  • A full-time Project Coordinator and Scheduler whose role is to organize projects, coordinate installations and ensure you have the information you need before arriving on site.
  • Raken Construction Management software to simplify communication, daily reporting, site documentation and project coordination.
  • Opportunities to grow into Lead Installer or Installation Supervisor roles.
  • A respectful workplace where quality, teamwork and professionalism come first.

We've all worked on projects where communication breaks down, materials aren't ready, schedules constantly change and installers are left trying to figure everything out on their own.

That's not how we want to operate.

We're investing heavily in planning, scheduling and communication so our installers can spend more time doing what they do best installing exceptional cabinetry.

Our goal is simple:

Give our installers the support they need to be successful.

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in rewarding people who are committed to building a long-term career with us.

Our compensation package includes:

  • Competitive wages, with regular wage reviews.
