We are seeking an experienced Purchaser to help keep our operations moving by sourcing quality products, maintaining healthy inventory levels, and developing dependable supplier partnerships.

What You’ll Do

· Manage inventory and stock items in line with established minimum and maximum levels.

· Monitor stock availability, investigate discrepancies, and support accurate inventory records.

· Prepare and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders accurately and on time.

· Identify, evaluate, and source suppliers based on price, quality, availability, and delivery requirements.

· Build and maintain productive relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.

· Negotiate pricing and terms with integrity while supporting cost-effective purchasing decisions.

· Coordinate with suppliers to expedite orders and help ensure on-time delivery.

· Manage inventory returns and resolve order, shipment, or supplier issues.

· Collaborate with internal departments to understand requirements and deliver responsive service.

Qualifications

· Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

· At least five years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.

· Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing, vendor selection, pricing, negotiation, purchase orders, and order management.

· Experience managing supplier relationships and working with internal departments.

· Working knowledge of inventory management, stock levels, demand planning, and procurement requirements.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Assets

· Experience in industrial supply, manufacturing, construction, or a related distribution environment.

· Experience using SAP or another ERP or purchasing system.

· Strong negotiation, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

· Sound judgement and the ability to evaluate cost, quality, availability, and delivery considerations.

· Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

· Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a collaborative team.
