Bar Romy is seeking a Restaurant Expeditor

Position Summary

The Restaurant Expeditor serves as the communication link between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring that food orders are prepared accurately, presented according to standards, and delivered to guests in a timely manner. This role is essential in maintaining smooth kitchen operations, food quality, and overall guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the flow of food orders between the kitchen and service staff.
  • Verify that all dishes are prepared according to restaurant standards, recipes, and presentation guidelines.
  • Ensure orders are complete, accurate, and served promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with chefs, cooks, servers, and management regarding order status and special requests.
  • Inspect plates for quality, portion size, appearance, and accuracy before they leave the kitchen.
  • Organize and prioritize orders during peak service periods to maintain efficiency.
  • Address and resolve order discrepancies or delays quickly and professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expediting station.
  • Assist in monitoring ticket times and helping the kitchen meet service goals.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant, food service, or kitchen experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
