Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager in Calgary to oversee and drive the successful execution of civil infrastructure and earthworks construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning through to completion. You manage client relationships, and strive to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled project manager with a strong background in civil construction, particularly in earthworks and utility infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of the project, including plans, specifications, and related documents
  • Oversee production and cost reporting analysis
  • Collaborate with the Regional Operations Manager to assign project personnel
  • Develop, monitor, and communicate project schedule
  • Review schedules with the Regional Operations Manager and Superintendent
  • Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoice
  • Oversee jobsite administration and clerical staff
  • Coordinate equipment needs with the Superintendent and Regional Operations Manager
  • Ensure safety policies and practices are implemented and enforced on site
  • Address and correct any safety or environmental violations immediately
  • Manage subcontractor schedules and quality of work
  • Maintain professional relationships with Owners, Project Engineers, and external stakeholders
  • Support Superintendents and Foremen as needed
  • Review daily jobsite reports
  • Manage change orders and claims.
  • Lead meetings with Owners and subcontractors
  • Prepare and review subcontract and material supply agreements
  • Oversee project permitting requirements
  • Compile and submit pay applications
  • Prepare Job Projection Cost Reports
  • Track productivity and report variances to field leadership
  • Monitor quantities, costs, and all project documentation

Qualifications

  • 8+ years related underground utility infrastructure and/or earthwork experience. Other combinations of experience and education may be considered
  • Eng. or CET or PMP designation is considered an asset
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints, specifications, schedules and costing reports are required
  • Thorough understanding of construction process, environmental regulations and safety practices
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience using B2W software, or similar program, is an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft suite is required
