Available Job Opportunity: JD Edwards Functional Consultant

Location: Vaughan, Ontario

The Opportunity

The JD Edwards Functional Consultant (Finance & Business Applications) supports the delivery, enhancement, and continuous improvement of enterprise business applications across the organization. This role provides functional expertise for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne financial modules and works closely with Finance and business stakeholders to support daily operations, system enhancements, reporting, and strategic technology initiatives.

Reporting to the Applications Supervisor, the successful candidate will contribute to ERP projects involving JD Edwards, SAP, and related business systems while helping drive process improvements, user adoption, and effective business outcomes across the organization.

The position is based at our head office in Vaughan, Ontario. We offer a hybrid work arrangement that provides flexibility to work from home, with an expectation of being in the office two days per week, Monday through Friday. Travel requirements are minimal and expected to be occasional, as business needs require.

What You’ll Do

Functional Support:

  • Provide functional support for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financial modules, including: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Fixed Assets (FA), Procurement to Pay processes, Financial Reporting and Financial Controls
  • Act as the primary functional point of contact for finance-related business processes within JD Edwards.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve functional issues impacting financial operations.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial activities.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, and Accounting teams to optimize business processes and system utilization.
  • Support users during incidents, enhancements, and system changes related to finance processes.

Implementations & Enhancements:

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to JD Edwards and other business applications.
  • Translate business requirements into functional designs and system solutions.
  • Participate in fit-gap analysis, solution design, and functional specifications.
  • Configure and maintain JD Edwards financial modules and associated setups.
  • Work closely with technical teams, developers, and external vendors to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes through system enhancements and automation.

Project Participation (Business Applications):

  • Actively participate in business application projects, particularly ERP initiatives involving JD Edwards, SAP, and related enterprise systems.
  • Perform project roles including: Project Manager (PM), Functional Lead, Business Analyst, Business liaison between IT and business users
  • Lead workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and solution design discussions.
  • Execute and coordinate testing activities (SIT, UAT).
  • Support go-live activities, post-go-live stabilization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to project planning, scope definition, risk identification, and stakeholder communications.

Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Support the creation and modification of reports using: JD Edwards standard reporting, Insight, ReportsNow
  • Assist Finance and business users with reporting and data analysis requirements.
  • Validate financial data accuracy and reporting integrity.
  • Support audit requests and financial reconciliation activities.

Documentation & Governance

  • Create and maintain functional documentation, including: Business requirements, Functional designs, Process flows, Configuration documents, Test cases and test results, Training materials
  • Provide knowledge transfer and user support as required.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Financial modules.
  • Strong experience with General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Fixed Assets (FA), and Financial Reporting.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end financial and accounting business processes.
  • Experience supporting production environments and business-critical finance operations.
  • Experience participating in ERP implementations, upgrades, and system enhancement projects.
  • Strong business analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with finance stakeholders, technical teams, and senior management.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with reporting solutions such as Insight, ReportsNow, or similar tools.
  • Fluent English.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience with SAP or other ERP platforms.
  • Project Management experience, including participation or leadership of ERP-related initiatives.
  • Experience in mining, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards Capital Asset Management (CAM/EAM), Procurement, and Inventory Management modules.
  • Familiarity with JDE integrations, Orchestrator, and overall ERP ecosystem is considered an asset.
  • PMP, CAPM, Agile, or similar project management certifications.
  • Working proficiency in Spanish.

Compensation for this position is determined by experience and alignment with role requirements and typically ranges from $95,000 to $120,000. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive awards.
