Full job description

Kanata, ON (Ottawa) • Permanent, full-time • On-site • Rotational 12-hour shifts
  • ATTENTION, TROUBLESHOOTERS, AND NIGHT-OWL PROBLEM-SOLVERS!

We're on a critical mission to keep telecom connectivity flowing across Nunavut and Northern Quebec, and we need a sharp technical troubleshooter to help hold the line in our 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC).

This is a hands-on technical role. You'll monitor network performance, diagnose incidents, coordinate escalations,
and help restore service quickly. You'll work on-site in Kanata alongside engineers and specialists to keep operations running smoothly

  • YOUR MISSION

    • Monitor SSi Canada's network using NMS and OSS tools, responding quickly to alerts and service events.
    • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve network faults, escalating complex incidents to engineers and external vendors
      when required.
    • Manage incident tickets, network changes, maintenance activities, and shift handovers.
    • Maintain operating procedures, technical documentation, and performance reporting while identifying
      opportunities for automation.
    • Support teammates and assist with the introduction of new services across the SSi Canada network.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    • Relevant technical education, training, or equivalent experience in telecommunications, electronics, computer
science, IT, or a related field.
    • Experience monitoring, diagnosing, or troubleshooting networks, systems, or other technical infrastructure.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to remain effective during service incidents.
    • Availability for rotating 12-hour day, evening, and overnight shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
    • Ability to work full-time on-site at SSi Canada's Kanata (Ottawa) office.

    CONSIDERED AN ASSET

    • CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, CompTIA Network+ or Security+; experience with GSM/LTE, routing and switching, server technologies, or satellite telecommunications

New to satellite telecom? That's okay. If you're a fast learner with solid troubleshooting instincts, our engineering team has the depth to bring you up to speed.
