About the Role

As a Customer Support Representative, you’ll help manage customer and stakeholder relationships across the region. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to understand service requirements, resolve concerns and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience.

This role combines customer service, relationship management, community engagement and business development. You’ll serve as a key connection between customers and ATCO, helping ensure that questions, concerns and service requirements are addressed proactively and effectively.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, municipalities, Rural Electrification Associations, Indigenous boards and other community stakeholders.
  • Meet one-on-one with customers to understand their needs and provide information about available services and products.
  • Respond to customer concerns involving billing, damage claims, rates, service reliability, outages and retailer-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve service issues and ensure customer requirements are addressed.
  • Monitor work in progress and provide timely updates to customers and community partners.
  • Support communications with local boards and serve as a liaison between external stakeholders and internal business partners.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant contractual obligations, policies, procedures, and terms and conditions.
  • Represent ATCO at community meetings, open houses, conferences and other local events.
  • Help plan and deliver community investment activities and manage related budgets.
  • Identify prospective customers and develop relationships that could lead to new business opportunities.
  • Partner with business development, sales and operational teams to identify opportunities to connect customers with ATCO services and solutions.
  • Support customer-focused programs, communications and marketing initiatives.
  • Gather information about market trends, customer needs, competing products and pricing.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations about ATCO products and services.
  • Promote a strong customer service culture by sharing customer insights with leaders and employees.
  • Ensure activities throughout the customer and sales cycle align with ATCO policies and procedures


What You Bring:

  • A technical diploma, business diploma or a related educational credential.

  • One to three years of experience in the electricity industry and customer service. An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience may be considered.

  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence.

  • Strong customer service, problem-solving and conflict-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • The ability to build trusted relationships and influence positive outcomes.

  • Knowledge of customer engagement practices and basic utility financial concepts.

  • Strong business and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Familiarity with electric distribution facilities.

  • The ability and willingness to travel.

  • Initiative, sound judgment and a collaborative approach to achieving results.

  • Availability to attend occasional meetings outside regular business hours.
