Overview:

For over 42 years, APO Products Ltd. has been a leading importer and supplier of Filipino & Asian food (grocery, frozen and seafood) in Canada. We are committed to producing high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, consistency, and customer satisfaction.

We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Associate to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor and maintain the company’s Preventive Control Plan (PCP) under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR)
  • Investigate & document customer complaints and quality issues; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support new product developments; review of product specification, ingredients, allergens, CoA, labelling for compliance to CFIA regulations and customer expectations
  • Assist with new supplier onboarding; review of supplier’s food safety and quality programs, HACCP, audit certifications/reports, risk assessment questionnaires
  • Maintain current and accurate  supplier compliance documents
  • Own the recall and traceability program, including mock recalls
  • Assist with Food Defense, Food Fraud, allergen control, and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Collaborate across various departments to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of our Preventative Control Plan (PCP)
  • Maintain current knowledge of all Federal and local food safety regulations
  • All other duties as may be assigned

What You Bring:

  • Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of QA or QC experience in food industry
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, CFIA, and SFCR requirements
  • Detail oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Language:

  • Mandarin (preferred)
  • Tagalog (preferred)
  • French (preferred)

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
