About Us

Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Role

Cameco’s Corporate Technical Services division plays a critical role in delivering safe, reliable, and efficient project execution across our operations. Within Fuel Services, this position provides leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects, from maintenance initiatives to large-scale, multi-year capital programs, supporting both operational and strategic priorities across our sites in Port Hope, Blind River, and Cobourg. Based in Port Hope, Ontario, as Program Manager you will lead a coordinated suite of projects across Fuel Services, including our uranium refinery in Blind River. This role brings together people, processes, and tools to enable consistent, high-quality project delivery while ensuring alignment with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with all interested parties and project teams, with regular travel to sites to engage directly and support successful execution. Approximately 25% of your time will be spent at the Blind River location.

In this role, you will:

  • Champion a strong safety culture by actively engaging in safety planning, Safety Field Leadership, and regular interaction with field teams and contractors.
  • Lead and oversee a portfolio of projects (~$500K to $50M), ensuring alignment with program objectives and business priorities.
  • Establish and maintain program governance, standards, and controls to drive consistent, high-quality execution across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight to a team of project managers, supporting successful delivery.
  • Partner with Technical Services, Operations, and SHEQ functions to support project planning, execution, and ongoing field activities, while maintaining strong contractor relationships.
  • Monitor program performance across scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, proactively addressing risks and gaps.
  • Lead program-level reporting and stakeholder engagement, while supporting long-term planning, resource optimization, continuous improvement, and project recovery as needed.

Required:

  • bachelor’s degree in engineering, Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.);
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in project execution, including experience leading large-scale or complex industrial projects;
  • demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects or programs in a coordinated environment;
  • strong understanding of project delivery frameworks, including planning, controls, risk management, and reporting; and
  • proven ability to lead, influence, and support project teams and stakeholders across functions;

Recommended:

  • PMP or PgMP designation;
  • experience delivering brownfield industrial projects; and
  • familiarity with regulatory and environmental compliance requirements in nuclear operations.
