5Blue Process Equipment is a fabrication shop located in Nisku, Alberta, specializing in Modularized Production Equipment & Pressure Vessel Packaged skids, complete with instrumentation and piping for the Oil & Gas industry.

We are currently seeking Pipefitters to join our team.

The role of the Pipefitter encompasses many activities including but not limited to:

  • Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements;
  • Installing supports, valves, piping and control systems;
  • Using hand tools or machines to cut openings for pipe in walls, floors, and ceilings;
  • Measuring, cutting, threading, and bending pipe as required;
  • Welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints to join pipes and fabrication sections of piping systems;
  • Testing systems for leaks using testing equipment;
  • Maintaining all tools, work area, and equipment in a clean an orderly fashion;
  • Following all company policies and procedures including adherence to industry standards and requirements;
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe work environment;
  • Standing for long periods of time. Lifting light to moderate weights;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Knowledge in hydrostatic testing;
  • Journeyman pipefitter with Red Seal is an asset; ·
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Pipefitter is an asset;
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred;
  • Experience in threaded piping systems;
  • Rigging experience;
  • Valid government-issued driver’s license;
  • Overall skill in relation to tools, measuring, and fabrication in general;
  • Experience in a pipe fabrication setting;
  • Strong commitment to safety;
  • Must be able to work well both independently and on a team;
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work in high pressure schedule driven environment.

Certification/Ticket Requirements

  • Steamfitter/Pipefitter Apprenticeship program participant.
  • WHMIS 2015.
  • OSSA Fall Protection is an asset.
  • OSSA EWP / AWP is an asset.
  • H2S Alive is an asset.
