Full job description

Are you a natural leader who loves delivering great customer service? We are looking for a dynamic Shift Supervisor to join our team! In this position, you will be the face of our restaurant greeting guests and accurately taking orders, while also supervising shift operations, guiding the team, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for authentic Indian cuisine, and are ready to take the next step in restaurant management, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Front-of-House & Customer Service (Order Taker):

  • Guest Relations: Greet guests warmly, answer questions about our menu (including spice levels, ingredients, and vegan/vegetarian options), and provide excellent recommendations.
  • Order Management: Accurately take orders and process payments at the front counter, online platforms, and phone-in orders using our POS system.
  • Order Accuracy & Expo: Double-check food items against receipts to ensure accuracy, package takeout/delivery orders securely, and hand them to guests with a smile.

Shift Leadership & Operations (Shift Supervisor):

  • Team Supervision: Run daily shifts, assign tasks to crew members, and ensure the team maintains a high level of speed and accuracy.
  • Opening/Closing Procedures: Oversee daily cash drawer reconciliations, store openings, or secure night-time closing routines.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the front-of-house, buffet/steam table line, and beverage stations to ensure food layout looks appetizing, fresh, and complies with food safety standards.
  • Problem Solving: Handle customer feedback or complaints professionally, turning a negative experience into a positive one.
  • Inventory Support: Assist management with monitoring front-of-house supplies, packaging materials, and drink stocks.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a QSR or fast-casual restaurant setting. Previous experience as a shift lead, supervisor, or senior cashier is highly preferred.
  • Food & Culture Knowledge: Familiarity with Indian cuisine (e.g., distinguishing between different curries, breads, snacks, and sweets) to confidently assist customers.
  • Tech-Savvy: Experience operating modern POS systems and third-party delivery apps (e.g., UberEats, DoorDash).
  • Communication: Strong communication skills. Multi-lingual skills (e.g., Hindi, Punjabi, or local languages) are a strong asset for connecting with our team and community.
  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Certifications: Valid local Food Handler Certification is an asset.
