Full job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line cook to join our team. We are a take-out Indian restaurant with high volume catering. The Cook will be responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality meals in a timely manner, following recipes and food safety guidelines.

Duties:

· Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes

· Ensure food quality and presentation meet standards

· Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, fridge, freezer, dish area and storage area

· Track and manage food stock, rotation and quality

· Receive deliveries, unpack and store goods in the appropriate storage area

· Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations

· Adhere to all food safety cleaning and sanitation procedures

· Other duties as assigned

What we need from you:

· Previous experience in Kerala cuisine is a plus, but not necessary

· Knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal presentation

· Knowledge and experience in cooking curries, biryani’s, tandoor dishes, and other south Indian meals

· Understanding of food safety guidelines and proper food handling

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with team members

· No/ low ego: you take directions and feedback well, and are focused on getting to the best possible outcome

· Fulltime- with open availability

  • Early mornings, late nights, long hours

· $18/hr- $22 (Depending on experience and skills)

Licence:

· Food Handler Certification (preferred)

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Language:

  • Malayalam/ Tamil (preferred)
