Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate South Indian Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in South Indian cuisine, food preparation, and kitchen management. This role involves overseeing the preparation and presentation of authentic South Indian dishes, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and leading a team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining the restaurant’s reputation for authentic and delicious South Indian cuisine while managing daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook traditional South Indian dishes with authentic flavors and techniques
  • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation
  • Oversee food handling, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations
  • Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels
  • Lead and train kitchen staff on cooking methods, food safety, and service standards
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
  • Ensure timely serving of dishes to meet customer expectations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
  • Assist in serving customers when necessary, providing excellent hospitality

Requirements

  • Proven experience in South Indian cuisine, with strong knowledge of traditional recipes and cooking techniques
  • Supervising experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and food service management
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage a team effectively
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
  • Prior restaurant or kitchen management experience within the food industry is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
