Full job description

We are looking for a well-experienced Chef De Partie - East and South Indian Cuisine &

Desserts to work for Sula Indian Restaurant Main Street located at 4172 Main St, Vancouver, BC

V5V 3P7, Canada.

No. of Position: 01

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Lead the assigned kitchen section for South Indian, East Indian, and Indian dessert

items during regular service, catering orders, and special functions.

● Prepare and supervise the preparation of Sula menu items, including Paneer 65,

Chennai Chicken 65, Chicken Madras, Fish Malabar, Prawn Sukka, Old Delhi Butter

Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Gulab Jamun, Mango Coconut Rice Pudding, and Pistachio

Rasmalai.

● Instruct cooks in proper preparation, cooking, garnishing, plating, and presentation

standards for South Indian, East Indian, tandoor, curry, rice, and dessert menu items.

● Demonstrate specialized Indian cooking techniques, use of spices, sauces, tandoor

methods, dessert preparation, and kitchen equipment to cooks and kitchen staff.

● Supervise cooks and kitchen helpers to ensure timely service, portion control, food

quality, and consistency with Sula recipes and presentation standards.

● Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for restaurant service, special

guests, catering orders, and functions.

● Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances while ensuring proper

food safety and allergen procedures are followed.

● Requisition food and kitchen supplies for the assigned section and monitor ingredient

freshness, storage, rotation, and inventory.

● Assist with menu specials, recipe refinement, and seasonal Indian cuisine and dessert

features in coordination with senior kitchen management.

● Maintain sanitation, hygiene, food safety, and occupational health and safety standards

in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen.

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.

Experience & Skills: 5 years in the Food Industry.

Language: English

Other skills;

Good Knowledge of Indian Cuisine

Hourly Rate: $36.60 for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
