Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Supervisor to lead and coordinate daily operations within our team. In this vital role, you will oversee staff activities, ensure adherence to safety and security protocols, and maintain high standards of service excellence. Your leadership will drive efficiency, foster a positive work environment, and uphold the integrity of our operations through keen oversight and strategic management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence team performance while ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Understand common Indian dishes, ingredients, spice levels, and preparation methods.
- Ensure dishes such as biryani, naan, tandoori items, curries, and vegetarian specialties meet the restaurant's standards.
- Confirm customer requests for spice levels and dietary restrictions are communicated correctly to the kitchen.
- Monitor the tandoor, buffet, or other specialized service areas where applicable.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients such as dairy, meat, seafood, rice, and spices.
- Assign duties, prepare staff schedules, and ensure adequate staffing.
- Train new employees on restaurant procedures, customer service, hygiene, and safety.
- Ensure Indian food is prepared and served according to quality, portion, presentation, and recipe standards.
- Monitor food and beverage service and resolve customer complaints professionally.
- Check tables, dining areas, washrooms, and kitchen areas for cleanliness.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Monitor inventory of food, beverages, packaging, and other supplies.
- Check deliveries and report missing, damaged, or incorrect items.
- Help control food waste and maintain appropriate portion sizes.
- Operate or supervise the POS/cash register and ensure accurate billing and payments.
- Handle opening and closing procedures, including cash counts and security checks.
- Communicate with kitchen staff regarding orders, special requests, allergies, and customer feedback.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, punctuality, and workplace conduct.
- Handle busy periods by coordinating seating, takeout, delivery, and kitchen workflow.
- Maintain good relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
- Report operational issues, staff concerns, inventory needs, and sales information to the restaurant manager/owner.
- Ensure the restaurant follows company policies and applicable local regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields with a strong understanding of surveillance techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of security systems, CCTV operations, and emergency response procedures
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with law enforcement, team members, and stakeholders
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and make sound decisions under pressure
- Prior experience supervising staff in a security or enforcement setting is highly desirable
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
