Full job description
Squires Gastro Pub is looking for a skilled and passionate Indian Cook with strong Tandoor experience to join our kitchen team in Burlington. We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented professional who is experienced in preparing authentic Indian cuisine while maintaining high food quality and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes under the direction of the Head Chef
- Specialize in Tandoor cooking including naan, kebabs, tikkas, and other grilled Indian specialties
- Ensure food quality, taste, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
- Plan and organize ingredients and cooking equipment for daily kitchen operations
- Monitor food portions, inventory levels, and minimize food wastage
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards in the kitchen area
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and support team operations
- Assist with inventory control and stock management when required
- Follow established cooking procedures, food safety regulations, and production timelines
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Indian cooking
- Strong hands-on experience working with Tandoor is mandatory
- Experience preparing North Indian and South Indian dishes is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices
- Ability to handle a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.
