Full job description

Oldskool Kitchen & Bar is looking for a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of authentic Indian cuisine, especially North Indian dishes, and be able to maintain high food quality and consistency in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes (curries, tandoori, street food, etc.)
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
  • Manage kitchen prep, inventory, and stock levels
  • Ensure cleanliness and food safety standards (as per health regulations)
  • Work efficiently during busy service hours
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years experience as an Indian Chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of Indian spices, gravies, and cooking techniques
  • Experience with tandoor is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Flexible availability (evenings & weekends required)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.20-$27.94 per hour
