Full job description

In the middle of Vancouver’s Chinatown, BAO BEI CHINESE BRASSERIE is a Michelin-recognized restaurant opened by the team behind Kissa Tanto Restaurant and Meo Restaurant and Bar. We are hiring for a full time line cook.

We are looking for an eager cook with some experience who is passionate about food and drink and cocktail culture. Employment is full-time, with wages starting at $230/day + gratuities. The candidate must have a valid work permit and able to work in BC. We are open 7 nights a week and on a 4 day work week.

Requirements:
3 years of culinary experience in a professional kitchen
English language proficiency
Accurate and efficient in executing assigned tasks
Good understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Food Safe Certificate
Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts is desirable
Available to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays

Have a valid work permit. We do not pay cash.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and complete food preparation items from the menu
Cook menu items during service efficiently and to the standards of the executive chef
Maintain an organized work environment
Uphold sanitation and safety standards
Report to and follow instructions as given by the executive or sous chefs
Have a positive and professional manner when dealing with co-workers and customers
