Full job description

Tax Manager | $120,000 – $150,000 | Toronto (Hybrid)

People often think experience is what clients pay for.

It isn't.

Clients pay for certainty.

They want someone who can untangle complexity, explain it in plain English, and help them move forward with confidence.

That's exactly what this Tax Manager opportunity offers.

Joining an established CPA firm in downtown Toronto, you'll work closely with owner-managed businesses and private clients across Canadian tax, planning, research, and advisory. You'll also have access to specialists across valuation, corporate finance, litigation support, and advisory services, giving you the opportunity to broaden your expertise beyond compliance.

Why this role stands out:

  • $120,000 – $150,000 salary
  • Hybrid working
  • Downtown Toronto location
  • Broad Canadian tax and advisory exposure
  • Work with owner-managed businesses and private clients
  • Access to specialist teams across valuation, litigation, corporate finance, and advisory
  • Established firm with an excellent reputation
  • Opportunity to build long-term client relationships

What they're looking for:

  • 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Strong Canadian corporate and personal tax experience
  • Experience advising owner-managed businesses and private clients
  • CPA designation preferred
  • In-Depth Tax would be an asset
  • Strong planning, research, review, and client communication skills
  • Someone who enjoys solving complex problems and building trusted relationships

The tax legislation changes every year.

The value of good judgement doesn't.

If you'd like to know more about this position, just hit the apply button and I'll be in touch. If you're just browsing the job boards and haven't dusted off your resume yet, that's absolutely fine. You can give me a call first. You'll find my number on LinkedIn (Jamie Egglenton at Distinct North America). Or, if you prefer, send me a connection request or message on LinkedIn and we can have an informal conversation first.

If you've reviewed this advert and you're unsure whether to apply because you don't tick every box, we'd still encourage you to apply. We support the CPA firms we partner with in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces, and if this opportunity isn't quite right, there's a good chance we'll have another public accounting role that's a better fit.
