Full job description

Job Title: Early Childhood Educator
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Wage: $28.00–$30.00 per hour

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will plan and implement developmentally appropriate programming for young children and support curriculum development within a collaborative early learning environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional and social development
  • Develop and maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
  • Observe and document children’s development and progress
  • Guide and support children in daily routines and learning experiences
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s progress and development
  • Collaborate with colleagues in planning and implementing curriculum
  • Contribute to curriculum development and reflective practice within the program
  • Integrate child-centred and inquiry-based approaches into daily programming
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta childcare licensing regulations
  • Maintain health, safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Early Childhood Education program
  • Valid Alberta Early Childhood Educator certification Level 3
  • Experience working in a licensed childcare setting
  • Strong understanding of child development principles
  • Knowledge of child-centred and inquiry-based curriculum approaches
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector

Candidates must hold a valid Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification.
