Full job description

Mr Frosty-Dickie Dee has an opening for a seasonal part time regular, (weather permitting) driver for our Mr Frosty Ice Cream trucks that sell in Parks & at events. Hours vary depending on weather and average 3-5 days a week typically running through to mid September.

We are actively recruiting Part Time Drivers to Work Weekends though mid May and daily Mid May to Mid September.

Based out of our Depot on the Surrey Langley border (196th & Fraser Hwy), the successful applicant will pick the truck up at our depot and drive to a predetermined park or event location for their shift. A typical shift is 8 hours depending on the day/event, some days could be longer and may run as long as 9 or 10 hours. Ice cream trucks operate daily from mid April until mid September (weather permitting.

Applicants need to a have a Class 5 or class 7 license with a reasonably clean driving record and a reasonably clean at fault accident history.

Class 7 applicants will ideally have at least a year of driving experience and have completed a recognized ICBC accredited Driver Training course (YD, Valley, etc)

Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check.

This opportunity is great for those who like sales, are self motivated, have patience, can deal with Children, and don't mind being in a van all day. This opportunity is open to anyone including University Students, Semi Retired individuals, Parents and Weekend Warriors looking to make extra money.

The right applicant is friendly, can talk to the public, has an excellent English speaking skills, will create the desire for people to want to buy ice cream and become a well known local ice cream legend.

The ability to drive a van is a requirement of the position. They are classic ice cream Stepvans from the 70's & 80's. The position pays $20 per hour, paid semi monthly by direct deposit.
