Full job description

Hexcel Construction is looking for an experienced and motivated Hydrovac Truck Operator. The position involves operating a Hydrovac Truck and using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to dig efficiently and precisely to uncover utilities on civil construction sites.

The position requires a high level of knowledge in the operation of Hydrovac trucks and their accessories. It also requires knowledge of Lower Mainland trucking routes.

The daily duties of the position would include:

  • Operating hydrovac equipment and performing hydrovac duties working in a variety of environments, including confined spaces
  • Driving a hydrovac truck
  • Daily pre-trip vehicle inspections
  • Attending safety meetings
  • Performing routine inspections and minor repairs on hydrovac equipment
  • Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards

.This position requires the following experience and/or qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience operating a hydrovac truck
  • A valid Class 1 or Class 3 License with airbrake endorsement
  • A clean drivers abstract
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Mechanical knowledge is an asset
  • Safety tickets such as First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Confined Space Entry, etc. would be an asset (Hexcel will provide training if necessary)
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labour in varying weather conditions

The position offers competitive pay ranging from $40-$43 per hour, depending on experience. Hexcel is a non-unionized firm but provides holiday pay, paid sick leave, paid statutory holidays as well as extended health and dental benefits, life and long term disability insurance and an RRSP matching plan.
