Position Title: Class One (1) Operator

Role Type: Permanent/ Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)

Location: Saprae Creek Facility, Fort McMurray, Alberta

Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
  • Maintain waste services through collection and transportation of waste and equipment.

  • Operate truck mounted hydraulic hoisting devices, highway tractor trailer combinations as well as the roll off truck pup trailer combination.

  • Operate lugger, roll off, frontload and flat deck truck w/ Moffett as required.

  • Complete thorough Commercial Vehicle Inspections, including documenting and reporting deficiencies promptly to the immediate supervisor.

  • Inspect the condition of waste bins, report defects, and monitor condition and functionality.

  • Notify dispatch of delays, unsafe work sites, incidents, equipment breakdowns and/or maintenance or operation concerns.

  • Ensure all waste services are completed in a safe and timely manner.

  • Address and resolve minor client concerns and refer client complaints and questions to Leadership.

What does Acden need from me?
  • Valid Class One (1) Operator’s License is required.

  • Three (3) or more years of professional truck driving experience adhering to the Alberta Provincial hours of service is required.

  • A driver’s Abstract demonstrating a pattern of safe and compliant driving behaviour is required.

  • Successfully completing a driver’s evaluation on a manual 18-speed Class One (1) vehicle is required.

  • Eligibility to work on all Acden client sites is required.

  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO), or BSO certificate, or a combination of CSTS & OSSA is required.

  • Ability to obtain clearance on drug, alcohol, hearing, and physical abilities pre-employment testing is required; this role is designated as safety sensitive.

What are the "nice to haves"?
  • Experience with manual transmission and previous roll-off experience is an asset.

  • Load securement experience as per the Alberta Provincial Hours of Service Regulations is an asset.
