Expectations
Responsible for overseeing and assessing the day to day needs of the Spa Experience & Housekeeping departments.

Salary: $64,000 - $70,000

Tasks & Responsibilities:
The Spa Experience & Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient operations of the Spa Experience and Night Housekeeping teams. As a manager at the Scandinave Spa, this role is critical in the overall operations of the facility and the experience of the guest. This role is responsible for but not limited to:
  • Ensure Scandinave Spa standards are met with relation to:
  • Cleanliness
  • Guest interactions
  • Pool operations
  • Site operations
  • Company policies and procedures
  • Budget management and department strategy development.
  • Producing department reports.
  • Inventory and stock management.
  • Personnel management
  • Hiring and training
  • Coaching and development; mentoring of department leaders
  • Scheduling
  • Payroll
  • Performance management with the support of supervisors and team leader when required.
  • Recognition
  • Meetings with your supervisors, team leaders and agents.
  • Departmental project management
  • Health & safety management as it applies to your department and the facility.
  • Staff
  • Guest
  • Facilities
  • In conjunction with the Maintenance manager, ensure facility structures are maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Supporting the teams – examples such as:
  • Covering shifts when required.
  • Dealing with challenging guest situations.
  • Talking through solutions for challenges the team’s experience.
  • Being a strong leader at the Scandinave by:
  • Leading by example.
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities fairly.
  • Providing positive and constructive feedback in a timely manner.
  • Being accountable for your work as well as the work of your team.
  • Demonstrating clear and concise communication.

  • Equally splitting your time supporting both the Spa Experience and Night Housekeeping teams.

  • All other tasks requested of you for the smooth and efficient operations of the Scandinave Spa Whistler.
Spa Experience Team
The Spa Experience Team are responsible for maintaining the site and facilities throughout the day. The team operates from 7am to 10pm daily, working various shifts. The spa experience team plays an important role in the guest experience through the facility. Their responsibilities involve but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring the cleanliness standards on site are upheld throughout the facility:
  • Locker rooms
  • Site
  • Massage pavilion
  • Parking lot
  • Water features
  • Ensure guests are adhering to our core policies:
  • Code of silence
  • Device-free zone
  • Assist in guiding guests through their Scandinave Spa visit with a thorough knowledge of all our spa features.
  • Parking lot management.
Night Housekeeping Team
The night housekeeping team plays an important role in preparing the facility for guests for the next day. This team works overnight from 9:30pm to 8:30am and are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the entire facility meets established Scandinave Spa standards. Their responsibilities involve but are not limited to:
  • Cleaning of all buildings and features at the Scandinave Spa to the Scandinave standard, including:
  • Saunas
  • Steam rooms
  • Solariums
  • Locker rooms
  • Massage rooms
  • Lobby
  • Administrative areas
  • Deep cleaning.
Prerequisites:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisor or management role of a team of 10 people or more.
  • Previous housekeeping experience.
  • Experience in commercial pool operation is a bonus.
  • Must have great leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to think on their feet, be proactive, problem solve, and deal with change on a daily basis.
  • Must be available to work full-time and attend functions after work on a semi-regular basis.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and be flexible to work AM/PM/Overnight shifts according to business demands.
  • Able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Having a valid driver's license is a bonus.
  • Clear criminal record check.
