House Manager (Casual, Subcontractor Position)

10-20 hours per week while schedule builds to part time or full time · Halifax, NS

Do you love creating calm, order, and warmth within a home?
We’re looking for a caring, confident, and reliable House Manager to support Halifax families with household management — from meal prep and organization to laundry and daily reset routines — the Nest way.

This is a casual, subcontractor role ideal for someone who enjoys helping others reclaim time and balance through structure, care, and thoughtful routines.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and assist with home-cooked meals, snacks, and family-friendly food prep
  • Support laundry routines, folding, and organization systems
  • Tidy and reset household spaces for easy daily flow
  • Implement organizing systems that help families stay on top of busy schedules
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with clients about household priorities and needs
  • Run light errands or household coordination as needed

Who You Are

  • Experienced in cooking, meal prep, or family food management
  • Strong in organization, time management, and communication
  • Confident taking initiative and comfortable running a home independently
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Friendly, professional, and respectful of client privacy
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and owns a reliable vehicle
  • Available at least three days per week, for example:

Monday – 2 hours · Tuesday – 4 hours · Thursday – 4 hours

  • Able to provide strong references
  • Willing to complete a background check and reference check prior to start

Role Details

  • Type: Casual, Subcontractor Position
  • Hours: Up to 15 hours per week (schedule may vary by client needs)
  • Pay Rate: $25-28/hour
  • Session Structure: Services are scheduled in 2-, 4-, or 6-hour increments
  • Location: Halifax and surrounding area
  • Commitment: Long-term preferred

As a subcontractor, you’ll represent the Nest brand while operating independently.
This includes maintaining your own business registration and carrying liability insurance.

Insurance Co-Pay Program:
Nest Home Assistance contributes 50% toward approved insurance coverage, with the contractor responsible for the remaining 50%.
