Application Deadline: July 1, 2026

Pup & Co House Care is currently looking for compassionate, dependable, and professional pet sitters to join our growing team.

We provide premium in-home pet care for families who want their pets to remain comfortable, safe, and cared for in their own homes while they’re away. Our sitters aren’t just stopping by to feed a pet — they’re trusted with maintaining routines, providing companionship, and creating peace of mind for both pets and their owners.

Our primary service is overnight pet sitting, with occasional daytime drop-ins, walks, and care blocks available based on client needs.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves animals, enjoys working independently, and takes pride in providing exceptional care.

Important Before Applying

  • Applications will be accepted until July 1, 2026
  • Applicants selected to move forward will be contacted after the posting closes
  • Please ensure the email address on your application is accurate and regularly monitored
  • This is an Independent Contractor position and is best suited for individuals seeking flexible, supplemental income

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Staying overnight in clients’ homes
  • Caring for dogs, cats, and other household pets
  • Maintaining routines, feeding schedules, exercise, and enrichment
  • Walking dogs and providing companionship
  • Administering medications when required
  • Sending regular updates and photos to clients
  • Maintaining a clean and respectful environment within clients’ homes
  • Providing reliable, professional care that reflects the standards of Pup & Co House Care

Requirements

Reliable Vehicle Required

A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory.

Due to the nature of our service area and scheduling needs, applicants without regular access to a vehicle will not be considered.

Dog Handling & Behaviour Experience Required

This is not an entry-level pet care position.

Applicants should have previous experience handling dogs independently and be comfortable working with dogs of varying sizes, temperaments, and behavioural needs, including:

  • Large breed dogs
  • High-energy dogs
  • Rescue dogs
  • Anxious or nervous dogs
  • Reactive dogs
  • Multi-pet households

A strong understanding of canine body language, dog behaviour, leash handling, and pet safety is required.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Police Background Check required prior to hire
  • Comfortable staying overnight in clients’ homes
  • Comfortable using WhatsApp, Google Calendar, email, and shared scheduling tools
  • Willing to contribute to a small monthly insurance fee (currently under $10/month)
  • Comfortable invoicing monthly as an Independent Contractor
  • Pet First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 2 years)

What to Expect

Our service area spans from Ancaster to Etobicoke, however our current hiring needs are primarily in Burlington and Stoney Creek.

Pets in our care must be able to be left alone for a maximum of approximately 6 hours within a 24-hour period.

Weekend, holiday, and overnight availability are considered strong assets.

If you’re someone who values professionalism, reliability, animal welfare, and creating exceptional experiences for pets and their owners, we’d love to hear from you.

Please apply with your resume, a valid personal email address, and a brief introduction outlining your animal care experience and availability.

Pay: $40.00-$200.00 per day
