Human Resources Manager

Le Méridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel – Opening Team

Le Méridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to join the opening leadership team of one of Toronto’s most anticipated hotel openings.

Located within SkyTower, Canada’s tallest residential tower, on Toronto’s waterfront, the hotel will introduce a sophisticated lifestyle hospitality experience inspired by culture, creativity, and the spirit of discovery that defines the Le Méridien brand.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the employee culture and colleague experience of a landmark hotel opening featuring multiple restaurants, a wellness center within SkyTower, and approximately 12,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space in the heart of downtown Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all pre-opening HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, policies, training coordination, and colleague engagement
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, offer letters, and onboarding
  • Ensure HR practices are compliant with Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, AODA, and WSIB requirements
  • Support workplace health and safety programs, including workplace violence and harassment policies, incident reporting, training, and compliance documentation
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, training records, payroll-related documentation, and compliance reporting
  • Partner with department leaders on workforce planning, scheduling support, performance management, coaching, and employee relations
  • Support accommodation requests, return-to-work processes, and accessibility requirements in a confidential and respectful manner
  • Coordinate colleague engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and hotel culture activities
  • Assist with payroll, benefits administration, attendance tracking, and HRIS updates as required
  • Support Marriott brand standards, hotel policies, and a positive workplace culture throughout the pre-opening and operational phases

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within hotel or hospitality operations
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including ESA, OHSA, Human Rights Code, AODA, and WSIB requirements
  • Previous hotel, lifestyle, luxury, or upper-upscale hospitality experience considered a strong asset
  • Pre-opening experience considered an asset
  • CHRP or CHRL designation, completed or in progress, considered an asset
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, workplace investigations, health and safety, payroll, benefits, and compliance documentation
  • Familiarity with Marriott systems, brand standards, or hotel HR processes preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced opening environment
  • Passion for hospitality, people development, and creating an exceptional workplace culture
