Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our year round 90 room full service remote resort located in Manitoba. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing staff, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of service across all departments. The Hotel General Manager will be instrumental in fostering a welcoming environment that promotes guest satisfaction, team development, and business growth.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise all hotel departments including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards aligned with hospitality best practices.
  • Oversee guest services to ensure exceptional customer experiences, handling escalated guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Manage human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff scheduling to maintain a motivated and professional team.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify opportunities for revenue enhancement while controlling costs.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to promote hotel services and increase occupancy rates.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations across all hotel operations.
  • Maintain effective communication through professional phone etiquette and guest interactions.
  • Monitor daily operations via front desk oversight, ensuring efficient check-in/out processes and accurate billing procedures.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, leadership development, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hotel management or a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of human resources practices including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and operational planning.
  • Hospitality experience with familiarity in front desk operations and guest services management.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong communication skills including phone etiquette and interpersonal interactions.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
