Full job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Bilingual (English and French), Full-Time Recruitment Phone Screener/Recruiter to join our dynamic Recruitment Team immediately. this is a remote, work-from-home position.

Hourly wage: $19.35/h.

Please note that, due to the nature of our business cycle, this position includes two scheduled seasonal layoffs each year (the estimated date and month could change):

  • Mid-May to Mid-July
  • End of November to End of December

The Prescreener plays a key role in the recruitment lifecycle by conducting initial candidate evaluations via phone screenings, supporting the Human Resources department with recruitment-related administrative functions, and contributing to a seamless and positive candidate experience. As part of this role, the Prescreener will also conduct interviews with candidates as required to meet evolving staffing demands. This role requires excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates' qualifications, professional experience, and overall fit for a variety of open roles.
  • Represent the company professionally by creating a welcoming and informative first point of contact for candidates.
  • Accurately record all candidate interactions, screening results, and relevant notes in the Pre-screen Master spreadsheet.
  • Work closely with recruiters and the recruitment manager to ensure a coordinated and efficient hiring process.
  • Assist with interview scheduling, candidate follow-up communications, and general recruitment administration as needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve screening procedures and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the recruitment process.
  • Conduct interviews as needed to meet business hiring demands.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Performance-driven and have the ability to get the job done quickly. There is a call quota of a minimum of 13 calls per hour! This is a very high-volume call environment.
  • Previous experience in human resources, recruitment, or a customer service environment.
  • Strong phone presence and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse candidates.
  • Proficient in data entry, documentation, and basic analysis using spreadsheets or similar tools.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented setting.
  • Demonstrated discretion and ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with integrity.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
