Full job description

We are seeking a reliable and energetic Temporary Delivery Driver to join our team. Depending on the circumstances, this could lead to full time employment. This position involves operating a company cargo van to deliver and pick up linens, uniforms, towels, and related products from hotels, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and other commercial customers throughout the Greater Victoria area.

Unlike traditional dock-to-dock driving positions, this role requires frequent loading, unloading, and carrying of linen products directly into customer locations. The successful candidate will be physically fit, customer-focused, and capable of working independently while maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a company cargo van in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.

Deliver clean linens, uniforms, towels, and other textile products to customer locations.

Pick up soiled linens and transport them back to the processing facility.

Load and unload carts, bags, and bundles of linen products.

Move products into customer storage rooms, laundry areas, and designated delivery locations.

Verify delivery quantities and maintain accurate delivery records.

Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and pickups.

Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.

Follow all workplace safety procedures and safe lifting practices.

Assist with other warehouse or operational duties as required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

Ability to push and pull loaded linen carts.

Ability to walk, bend, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods throughout the day.

Comfortable performing physically demanding work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

Valid BC Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driving record.

Previous delivery or commercial driving experience is an asset but not required.

Strong work ethic and reliability.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Ability to follow directions and complete required paperwork accurately.

What We're Looking For

This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys being active, working independently, and interacting with customers throughout the day. The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, and takes pride in providing excellent service while maintaining a safe and efficient delivery schedule.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.

Expected Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as required.

Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
