Overview
Join our Interactive Sport Technologies finance team as a Junior Staff Accountant and become a vital contributor to our organization’s financial health! This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting expertise, support essential financial processes, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. As a Junior Staff Accountant, you will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position is perfect for motivated individuals eager to grow their accounting skills and make a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and ledger maintenance using accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAGE, Xero, or PeopleSoft
  • Prepare and file taxes in Canada, USA and other countries.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and accounts payable/receivable processing to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Help with bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis to monitor financial health
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities to aid management decision-making
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, including variance analysis and financial report interpretation for various stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / College degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Good understanding of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and financial statement preparation
  • Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft; proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including GAAP and SOX compliance procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for account reconciliation and journal entry accuracy
  • Ability to interpret financial reports and perform financial analysis effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from mentoring opportunities in a collaborative environment
