OVERVIEW:

The Doorman represents the property at its main entrance and is responsible for providing a welcoming, professional, and secure first impression for all residents, guests, and visitors. The Doorman monitors the front entrance, assists with doors, luggage and parcels, offers directions and basic information about the property and surrounding area, and helps ensure safety of people and vehicles at the entry point. The Doorman must consistently deliver courteous service, maintain a visible presence at the entrance, and promptly report any unusual activity or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome residents, guests, and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Open and close doors for arriving and departing residents and guests.
  • Assist with luggage, parcels, deliveries, and special items as required.
  • Monitor the entrance and maintain a visible presence to help ensure the safety and security of the property.
  • Observe and report any suspicious, unusual, or unsafe activity to management or security.
  • Support access control as directed, helping to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
  • Provide directions, general information about the property, and local area guidance to residents and visitors.
  • Assist with arranging or coordinating transportation (e.g., hailing taxis, ride services, or shuttle arrangements).
  • Provide assistance to individuals requiring extra support, including elderly persons, individuals with disabilities, or those carrying heavy items.
  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and a professional appearance of the entrance area, including exterior walkways and immediate lobby entry.
  • Refresh common areas and remove garbage from entry points and throughout the building.
  • Help manage flow at the entrance during busy periods, move‑ins/move‑outs, events, or peak arrival/departure times.
  • Communicate effectively with reception, concierge, security, and other departments or teams to support service needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident, guest, and property information at all times.
  • Follow property policies, procedures, emergency protocols, grooming standards, and dress code requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a customer service, security, or similar front‑facing role.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional attitude with the ability to remain calm, courteous, and attentive at all times.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and varying weather year‑round.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as opening doors and assisting with luggage or parcels.
  • Experience in a residential, hospitality, or high‑traffic environment is an asset.
  • Bilingualism or additional language skills are considered an asset
