Must have REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE IN PROPERTY ACCOUNTING to oversee the full accounting cycle for a multi-building real estate portfolio consisting of residential and commercial properties. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in an autonomous environment and enjoys working closely with property management and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

Property Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Manage the full accounting cycle for multiple properties (residential )
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Perform bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany entries
  • Ensure accurate rent roll, tenant ledger, and occupancy reporting
  • Prepare year-end working papers and support external auditors
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and cash flow forecasts
  • Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in property or real estate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of multi-property accounting (residential & commercial)
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and month-end close
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or Collegial degree
  • Familiarity with property management software (Hopem, Building Stack, etc.)
