Reports to: Food Service Manager

Job Status: Part-time Openings, Onsite

Hours: 11am-7pm AND 6:30am-2pm2 shifts per week, rotating schedule every other weekend

Location: : 480 Downie Street, Stratford, Ontario N5A 7Y5

Pay: $19.81

Your Day to Day:
As a Cook at Amenida Senior Community, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and serving home-cooked meals using fresh, real ingredients for a large group of residents.
  • Planning and prepping meals for the current and following day.
  • Assisting the Food Service Manager with kitchen operations as needed.
  • Ensuring proper food presentation and portion control.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all food preparation areas in accordance with health regulations.
  • Supporting kitchen tasks including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for long periods.
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas according to established standards.
  • Adhering to safety and food handling protocols at all times.
  • Focusing on preparing authentic Korean cuisine to meet the cultural and dietary preferences of residents.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Proven experience cooking in a busy kitchen environment, preferably in a senior care or institutional setting.
  • Ability to prepare large-batch meals with attention to taste, presentation, and dietary requirements.
  • Valid Food Handling Certificate.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks related to food service.
  • Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to hire, including a Vulnerable Sector Screening, in accordance with applicable provincial and federal regulations.
